Truth And Lies

A Poem

There’s merit in the truth,

Honesty; openness; love,

Lies only feed lies,

And it’s hard to keep track.

The stories you’ve told,

More precious to you than gold.

They keep your secrets safe,

But they dull your shiny world.

One day maybe you’ll tell,

And maybe it’ll go well,

As you tell the real story,

The truth of how you fell.

In the end it doesn’t matter,

You live by the choices you make,

Some things are easy to create,

But in the end, it’s harder to fake.

If you’re broken and unwell,

If you’re hurting more than we can tell,

If you’ve completely reached the end,

Then, tell the truth, my friend.

So, let it set you free,

And then you’ll truly be,

Complete- finally,

And you’ll say, “This is really me…”
