She didn’t know exactly when or how, as Kurdah hadn’t had any of the details, but she knew that she had to warn the fairy folk and to help them to protect their home and the intrinsic natural power that the goblins coveted so greatly. She really couldn’t let them get their hands on that, because from there, it really could lead to an all out war.

Suddenly, she became aware of a misty shape, floating just in front of her, at eye level. She blinked rapidly several times, and then smiled as the shape of a pair of wings began to form in front of her, and from those wings, a tiny, delicate body, which glimmered and sparkled as if imbued with the very essence of magick.

“Basha!” she exclaimed, excited, in spite of her worrying news, to see her friend. With autumn and the harvest, she had been kept very busy at home, helping her mother with the crops and preparations for the big festival that always took place at the fall of the leaves, and she had not had time to come to the faerie glade for a long time and had missed visiting with Basha. She held out her hand and the tiny faerie gently landed on her palm, her wings gently flickering still. She looked at Laine out of wide, brilliant emerald eyes, and lashes that fluttered softly at the corners, framing her face perfectly. Her hands, tiny and dainty, held a small crystal with…
