Re-evaluating my Facebook friends list

I know the title sounds dramatic. It isn’t really, though. I know things can change or go backwards, but often, they don’t.

This weekend, I went through my Facebook friends list. I removed a lot of people from it. It wasn’t about being petty or childish though.

The people that I removed, were people who are no longer friends of mine. In fact, in this last year, I have come to realise that they probably never really were.

I had only a few criteria for this task.

  1. Have I spoken to this person in the last ten months?
    If I could answer “Yes.” Then they stayed. If it was a “No.” Then further considerations needed to be made.
  2. Do I consider this person a good friend?
    If this answer was “Yes.” They stay.
  3. In the event that I said “No.” To both of the previous questions, then they were on the danger list.
  4. There are some people that you can often go for even a year without speaking to, and that’s okay- they may be people that you knew from school, or people that are family acquaintances- not close friends, but also not worthy of deletion.
  5. My last consideration was whether this person had done something that I felt I would find it difficult (not to forgive
