NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL

We’ve all heard the word innocence, and have some very specific ideas about this. For some people, this means not knowing about certain things. It can be seen as a sign of naïveté, but in reality, there is nothing more beautiful than innocence.

OR SADDER

And there is nothing sadder than when you witness that innocence being lost.

There are varying degrees of this. Some examples might me a child who suddenly learns that Santa isn’t real, or a child who realises that her friends don’t actually care about her.

A HUGE RANGE

There is such a broad range of when innocence can be lost. And, obviously, there are extremes of this…

I see this when I look at a couple of my young nieces. They are very young, and have this unwavering belief in good, and magic, and wishes coming true. It breaks my heart to think that they will lose that someday.

That’s the thing about innocence. Losing it comes to us all, it’s just a matter of when, and how potentially traumatic it is.
