Journaling For Mental Health
I have been journaling since I was ten years old. Back then, my journaling took the form of writing. I was no artist back then, but within the pages of my journals, I was able to spill out every confused, and mixed up thought and feeling onto the page.
MY PROCESS
As I have grown, my journaling process has changed and grown, too. My journals now contain photos, drawings, doodles, audio entries, and video, too.
That’s the thing that I love about journaling; it changes and adapts to whatever you need it to be. Basically, you don’t have to fit into the ‘normal’ format of a journal, the journal will mould into whatever you need it to become; it will adapt to work for you.
So, here are just ten of the many reasons that I believe everyone should be journaling.
1. IT HELPS YOU TO DECOMPRESS
We can all have rough days. The kinds of days where you just want to crawl under your blanket and never come out. It is on these days that I find journaling comes into its own. The practice of sitting down with your journal and recording what happened during the day can help you to clear your mind of all thoughts.
