I Have Finally Found My Crew

It’s a long process.

When you go to school, there’s no real choice in who you become friends with- it is largely left to chance. The people you sit next to generally become your friends, regardless of whether you have any shared interests or not.

In secondary school (middle/high school for those in the US), generally, these friendships that have already formed, are further cemented.

A TIME OF CHANGE

Then, when people leave school and head to college, there is a shift, where only the people that want to continue their study will actually go there.

This is where we are matched more according to our interests, and this is often where we get to make meaningful connections.

IT TAKES TIME

It took me a long time to find my connections. In the past, I didn’t have many great friends, and I didn’t have the confidence to tell myself that I deserved to have good friends.

The thing is, I read a blog post by someone, a while ago, who talked about finding their crew, and it got me thinking.

HOW?

How do we find our crew? And how do we know when we’ve found this holy grail of people?
