Faith took a bite of the toast that she’d smuggled up to her room. It wasn’t that she had to sneak food, but she wasn’t allowed food in her room, and while she generally didn’t mind, she wanted to finish the conversation she’d been having with Rocky online. She knew it probably wasn’t his real name, though he was American, so she figured that anything could go really.

She was flitting back and forth, between the computer and her wardrobe as she got ready for school. She took a final bite of toast, leaving the crust on her plate, as she went over to her dressing table and picked up her hairbrush. Just as she was finishing, she heard her laptop bleep a message notification. She walked over to her desk and clicked on the message. She quickly read down it, and smiled.

Rocky was just so nice, and kind and sensitive. She sort of felt like she could tell him absolutely anything. She had told him pretty much anything. Her best friend Nicole kept making fun of her about her ‘online boyfriend’, but it wasn’t like that. They were just friends. Faith had made that completely clear, and Rocky had accepted that. They’d only spoken about it last night, but it was as if he knew exactly what she was thinking before she even typed it. After she had typed a response, she finished getting dressed, and pulled her shoes on.
